Asset management industry veteran to propel Alight’s vision to become the “Bloomberg™ for everyone else.”

SaaS-based technology company, Alight, Inc., today announced that Rick Brandt has joined as Vice President of Platform Product Management and drive Alight’s real-time data analytics strategy.

“For years, Wall Street firms have used the powerful Bloomberg data terminal to make impactful, real-time decisions about how to best manage and optimize their investments – if you asked them if they could imagine running their businesses without it and they’d all say absolutely not,” commented Michele McGovern, CEO, Alight, Inc. “At Alight, we want to be the Bloomberg for everyone else.

“And that’s why I couldn’t be more excited to welcome Rick Brandt to Alight. Rick brings with him an extremely successful career’s worth of experience as portfolio manager at top alternative investment firms and a deep passion for using data, real-time dashboards and machine learning to drive optimal decision making. That experience and passion will be the perfect complement to our company’s mission.”

Brandt brings a rich background in investment management, data science, product management and product marketing, most recently as portfolio manager at RS Investments and Cerebellum Capital, a San Francisco machine-learning based hedge fund. Prior to that, he was a partner at Resultant Capital Partners, a start-up alternative investment management firm. In addition, he’s held senior investment-centric roles at Symphony Asset Management and Connective Capital Management, along with technology marketing and product-centric roles at GoDigital Networks and Nokia.

“The business world is facing a huge problem right now – there is just too much data flowing from too many places for executives to harness that information into effective decisions,” said Brandt. “That’s why I’m excited to join Alight – the opportunity is tremendous and I look forward to making Alight as indispensable to the CEO, CFO and other senior executives of every industry as the Bloomberg terminal is to every portfolio manager in the investment industry.”

“Rick’s quantitative portfolio management experience will be invaluable as we push further into using machine learning and predictive analytics to deliver enhanced insights to our customers and their decision making,” said Steve Warren, CTO, Alight, Inc. “Our solution will become more powerful and help our customers find greater profits and growth opportunities.”

Brandt has lived in the Bay Area for 25 years and currently resides in Mill Valley with his wife and two teenaged children.
